Puppets!

Last night, we rolled out the red carpet for the arrival of the newest members of the Midvale Main Street Theatre Family!

The puppets are here!!

We poured champagne and orange soda and toasted the new arrivals.

Pictures do not do these puppets justice. I can't begin to tell you how delightful these puppets are. They absolutely come to life!

Tammy unwrapped each box to find each puppet wrapped in plastic. We lovingly called the plastic bag their embryonic sack.

The first puppet to come out of the box was Trekkie Monster.

Garrett stood off to the side of the stage. He had this look on his face that said--"Why are we toasting stuffed animals? Y'all are crazy. And now I'm standing on the stage waiting like a father to receive my puppet... suuuuure...." His face was blank--but you could tell he was wondering why some people were super excited. I was happy about the puppets being here--and others were happy about the champagne--but no one really caught the significance of the arrival. Not really...

And then Tammy handed him the puppet--

I kid you not--this guy went from meh to giddy! His eyes just lit up.

And when he started working the puppet--this furry felted creature just came alive! I started to scream with delight! Suddenly it really did feel like we were birthing beautiful muppet babies!!

There aren't words to describe the magic.

Come on down to the theatre and see Avenue Q! It opens May 30th and runs through June 15th. Tickets are on sale now. You can purchase over the phone. Is it bad that Avenue Q makes me giggle?

I hope not since that's the whole reason we're doing it. The overall message is absolutely beautiful. I cried the first time I listened to the whole thing. But to each their own. Somethings are too offensive for everyone to enjoy the overall message. This is one of those "know thyself" things. I don't agree with everything in the musical. But I don't agree with everything that everyone posts on Facebook either. It's okay to disagree with one another on various points. I was touched by the message though.

What I should have said was, "Where can I get tickets?" It's a play I would like to see.
