Weekend Events

Things I did this weekend:

1) Started reading Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials chronicles. (This deserves it's own blog.)
2) Walked to Target with my roommate and went to the Silver Diner with some old friends.
3)Bought a Mac. (Whoopee!!!)
4) Got a giant discount as an educator. And a free ipod!
5) Took myself to a movie--this time it was NOT rated R. I went to the travelling pants movie. It was a crack up. I was sitting next to these cute little girls who kept whispering to each other--"I bet the pants are going to fly through the window! Wouldn't that be funny!"
6)Went to church where i made crazy comments and kept things as lively as possible.
7) Stayed up until 4:30am reading Pullman and listening to radiohead and fionn regan on my ipod.
8) Made up stupid songs in church because I was so tired after staying up until 4:30am. Songs like, (to the tune of "More Holiness Give Me") --More Monster Drink Give Me, More Caffeine within . . .  You get the point.
9) Read more.
10) Went to the gym. While driving away in my horribly sweaty state, a guy hit on me while crossing the street. I made up a fake boyfriend and pleaded with the light to change!! Asking for money is one thing, asking for my virtue--well, that's a whole different bag of chips!

All in all, it was a pretty low-key weekend.

You're hilarious. I loved the made up boyfriend and silly songs. My husband read His Dark Materials earlier this summer. I vicariously experienced it through him...you'll enjoy!

Hum, sounds like you had a fun time. My husband is home, so we spent a lot of time together. I am not sure how long he will be here, but it seems like for a while. YEA!! So excited. Love ya!

I distinctly recall making up some pretty funny songs with Alicia while I was on my mission. I'm sitting here trying to remember the song we made up about the Blue Book. Dang it! I can't remember! And Sunshine--I'm soooo happy your hubby is in town. That's wonderful!

You crack me up. What variety of Mac do you have? I got an iMac and powerbook (for Valerie) last year with my discount, and I too got a free iPod for Matt. My laptop is 4 years old and mostly good. Dont want to jinx myself, but it will not charge anymore... I have to have it plugged in at all times, even if I am not using it otherwise the battery completely dies and I have to reset the date and time... but I love Mac. Never again will you have a virus. Ever.

Your song sounds delightful~ you crack me up.

Here is the 16 year old I was telling you about. Fanny Alger... look her up, I was surprised. To say the least.

love you,

Crystal

PS- I have been thinking about your book and I think it is amazing that we both recognized how RIGHT the author is...
