The Beauties of Mother's Day

Today I spent the day with my mother and the evening with my mother's mother.

They're both pretty stellar women.

I took this picture of my mom watering her flowers on the front porch.

There's nothing like springtime in Utah.

My brother Nick and I had a great visit with our grandma tonight and after, I took a couple pictures of the sunset over the lake.

Today I am grateful for my mother.
I am grateful for sunsets.
I am grateful for Utah in May.
And June, July, August, September, October and a little bit of November.
And winter's not bad either, though it feels a little long.

Mother's Day is an odd day for a woman with no children.
I appreciate the opportunity to remember--but I don't particularly like being remembered for something I've never done.
They were handing out geraniums to every woman at church and I managed to dodge receiving one.

Every woman is a mother. Eve was called the mother of all living before she ever had a child, but I specifically honor my friends and loved ones who spend their lives caring for children.

A note about love... I need to download some happy songs. Heart break is on the horizon again and I'm sick of my current angry girl ballads.

Thank you! I loved your post about your mother's class too. And what an awesome husband you have! I'm so happy we're friends.
